MANTRA MEDITATION PRACTICE
Continue to chant daily for a minimum of 5 minutes or 108 repetitions if you have mala beads
Tune in for a little time after your chant to experience the benefits. It's also a good time to pray.

VOCALIZATION PRACTICE

  • Dance & Vocalize
    Feel into your body to release stored emotions through the voice & play with a full range of expression. Allow yourself to growl, pant, moan, to get guttural, fierce, angry, sad, sensual, to get goofy, soft, sweet, to squeal with delight or even laugh maniacally if that's in there, all with an intention toward and permission to allow your most authentic expression to come through. The "long drumming" songs on this album or Native American Drum recordings might be helpful.

  • Vocalize in the shower &/or car, allow yourself to get experimental and playful.


RECAPITULATION PART ONE
Make a list (or multiple lists) of any memory that has an emotional charge attached (can be positive or negative). For the purposes of our work together, you might explore times in which:
- you felt dismissed, unheard or misunderstood
- you were told or made to be quiet

- you were afraid to speak or sing
- when you should have spoken up but didn't advocate for yourself or another

- when you misused your word, lied, gossiped, manipulated, spoke hurtfully or arrogantly

- when you misspoke, put your foot in your mouth, felt embarrassed about something you said or sang

- you experienced sadness, anger, shame, guilt or other strong emotions around speaking or singing
- times when you may have been over-expressive, couldn't seem to stop expressing and may feel bad about that or have fear around trusting your discernment around when and what to express
- any argument or confrontation with another that may have created trauma around your voice


You may also consider thinking through your list by:

- age
- places lived

- relationship
